What will the weather be like?

August in Vaughan is typically warm and summery, with daytime temperatures around 22 to 28°C (72 to 82°F). Evenings can be cooler, however evening events are indoors. Morning events are outdoors so we recommend: light layers or a shawl for night, comfortable footwear for walking and dancing, breathable fabrics for daytime events.

What should I wear?

Indian events (Haldi / Mehendi / Sangeet, etc.):
Go all out. Think colourful, festive, Indian traditional. Sarees, lehengas, sherwanis, kurtas - anything you love. Try to avoid red for the wedding ceremony.

Reception (evening of August 22):
This is a Black Tie Formal event. Gowns, tuxes, formal suits for men, gowns, lehengas, sarees for women. Please dress to impress!

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Our haldi and wedding ceremony is outdoors, but our sangeet and reception will be indoors :)

Is transportation provided between the venue and hotels?

Uber, Lyft, and taxis are easily available in Vaughan and the GTA. The venue is about 7 minutes drive from Aloft Hotel

I live out of town. Where should I stay?

We'll be staying at the Aloft hotel since it's the closest to the venue. Feel free to check out the "Travel" section above for more information.

Question 8

What should/could I do between the ceremony and the reception?

There are several hours scheduled between events. You’re welcome to go back to your hotel to change and rest, or stay at the venue, relax, socialize, and enjoy the atmosphere.

The Celebrations

11:00am - 2:00pm

Haldi is applied to the bride and groom as a blessing for prosperity. Devgon is a traditional Kashmiri prayer where the bride is doned in new clothes and jewellery.

6:00pm - 11:00pm

An evening of dinner, music, and dancing to kick off the celebrations. Enjoy intricate mehndi designs in a lively, festive atmosphere filled with performances.

8:00am - 9:00am

Baraat is the groom’s wedding procession to the ceremony venue, accompanied by music and dancing. The procession will start at the Ascott Parc Main Entrance.

10:00am - 2:00pm

Lagan is the sacred Hindu wedding ceremony where the bride and groom are married through traditional rituals around the holy fire, formally uniting them in marriage.

6:00pm - onwards

Join us for cocktails, followed by a formal reception - an evening celebration to toast and celebrate the newlyweds. Get ready to wear your best dance shoes and dance the night away.
